Mood: Worn Out

Hello hello there! I am back from the dead! To everyone who saw the account suspension, I didn’t mean to scare you guys off. I’ve been sick for the past few days and never had the chance to go to the bank to transfer money, hence I had to wait up until I’d go outside with my mom. But now since everything is back to normal, let’s start with the monthly specials, shall we?

July: Jonghyun – Blinking Game

Truth to be told, as of lately I’ve been a complete sucker for slow and relaxing songs – especially jazz. When I first listened to Jonghyun’s newest album, the first and only track which got my attraction right from the first time listening to it was Blinking Game. I’m normally used to his upbeat songs – if not, depressing or meaningful ones, but this caught me completely off guard and gave me all kinds of feelings and thoughts.

It also made me realize at some point that dismissing his solos was a big mistake. Haha. But what can I say? People change and so does their taste in music.

August: Jessica Jung – Fly

When this song first came out, I was more hooked into it than any of SNSD’s OT8 comebacks which is kind of sad for someone who admired the group when they were still complete, but oh well. I can’t do much about it either.

Anyway, truth to be told, I never listened to the English version because I can’t get rid of the feeling that it might sound just like “The Boys” English version, just a bit better tho. We’ll see about it how it is someday. Three things which fascinated me in this solo debut: the music video as a whole, the lyrics and the singer itself.

Who would’ve known Jessica Jung would bring it this far? I’m not aware of the complete and truthful story (no one is except for SM’s CEO, Jessica and SNSD), but I have to admit that this solo definitely made it far on my favorite list as well as Jessica herself.
